چکیده
The World Wide interoperability for microwave access (WiMAX) technology support to the flexible channel sizes and different countries use different channel it depends on the rule and regulation of countries and their environment. The WiMAX network asymmetry is largely depends on DL:UL ratio. This paper investigates the effect of channel bandwidth in WiMAX network with network asymmetry using TCP New Reno. The performance of WiMAX network is evaluating by varying MAC layer parameter such as channel size, DL:UL ratio and other operating parameter such as downloading traffic (number of downloading wireless nodes). The performance of WiMAX network is measured in terms of throughput, goodput and number of packets drop.

متن کاملImproving Ensemble-TCP Performance on Asymmetric Networks
For the World Wide Web, the Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) and the HyperText Transfer Protocol (HTTP) are two important protocols. However, interactions between these two protocols, combined with the bandwidth asymmetry of network access technologies such as ADSL, can lead to inefficient HTTP/TCP performance. This paper investigates the effects of bandwidth asymmetry on Ensemble-TCP, a pro...
متن کاملTarget bandwidth sharing using endhost measures
Recent congestion control protocols such as XCP and RCP achieve fair bandwidth sharing, high utilization, small queue sizes and nearly zero packet loss by implementing an explicit bandwidth share mechanism in the network routers. This paper develops new quantitative techniques for achieving the same results using only end-host measures. We develop new methods of computing bottleneck link charac...
متن کاملTCP Fast Recovery Strategies: Analysis and Improvements
This paper suggests that, to match an ideal Internet gateway which rigorously enforces fair sharing among competing TCP connections, an ideal TCP sender should possess two properties while obeying congestion avoidance and control principles. First, the TCP sender which under-uses network resources should avoid retransmission timeouts. When experiencing network congestion, a TCP connection shoul...
متن کاملA New Congestion Control Mechanism of TCP based on Bandwidth Measurement
In this paper, we propose a new congestion control mechanism of TCP, using bandwidth information obtained by inline network measurement to control the congestion window size. Whereas the traditional TCP Reno recognizes the network congestion by detecting packet losses, the proposed mechanism obtains directly the information of physical and available bandwidths by using an inline network measure...
